Dave Smith

Dave Smith (born April 20, 1983) is an American stand-up comedian, political commentator, and podcaster based in New York. He co-hosts the comedy podcast Legion of Skanks and hosts Part of the Problem, a libertarian political commentary show. Smith studied history at the University at Albany and entered the New York stand-up scene in the mid-2000s. His 2017 special Libertas reached the top of the iTunes comedy charts.

Political commentary

Smith is one of the most prominent libertarian voices in American podcasting. He advocates for non-interventionism, free markets, and civil liberties from an Austrian economics framework. He has been associated with the Mises Caucus of the Libertarian Party and was widely discussed as a potential 2024 Libertarian presidential candidate before declining to run.
